Sneyd Park AFC was formed in 1897 and originally played friendly games on Durdham Downs in Bristol. They were founder members of the Bristol Downs League in 1905, entering two teams.

The league has had four divisions since 1954 and Sneyd Park is the only club to have fielded a team in all four divisions since then.

The club has had varying success during its existence, but throughout it all has always elected to remain in the Downs League. They have won the first division title twelve times, with ten of those titles coming in the last 25 years.

The club provides the opportunity to play football and be involved in a community club, while giving an entry route to senior football to juniors in the area. Players regularly continue to be a part of the club after their playing career has finished and the dedicated and long-serving committee are proof of this. Sneyd Park has members that have been with the club for over 60 years and the oldest current member is 97!

Since the club first started it has played in the same colours of red and blue halves and has never allowed a sponsor to be on their kit. The club has a very tired away kit that needs refreshing and requires some jackets for substitutes to wear in the cold, wet and windy weather often seen on the Downs!

An Aviva Community Fund grant would provide the club with a much-needed new away kit for Sneyd Park AFC to looks its best at the start of another 120 years on the Downs.
