Health and wellbeing

Funding level: Up to £1,000

The Waterlooville Events team is a group of local volunteers who aim to encourage a 'Spirit of community' and pride in Waterlooville. They do this by organising a number of free or low costs events to bring the community together and provide fun affordable events for the whole family. One of the main events is the Waterlooville Summer Fete. Entry is free and as well as the usual funfair, stalls and food we aim to provide 4 hours of quality entertainment showcasing local talent and as many FREE activities as we can get funding for to make the day affordable as well as fun.

In 2018 the free activities were:

* Muckey Bucket mobile farm
* Top Banana Circus 'learn circus skills'
* Big Noise Samba ' learn to play Samba drums'
* Pete Ashley Activity Centre - Laser Tag
* Tony Spaghetti Children's entertainer

We also subsidised other activities such as Giant Bubbles to enable them to be provided for 50p a child.
The total cost of these was just over £1000
We would use this £1000 to provide a selection of free activities at the 2019. We have no official funding or source of regular income so without funding such as this we may not be able to provide them.

The team also organise The Christmas Light event in the Precinct 17th November 2019, Santa's Grotto in Waterlooville Library - 8th to 22nd December 2019, Saturday Bandstand, Monthly Cinema, Monthly Car Boot, Classic Car day, Pancake Race and school Art trail.
