Description

The conversion of a container alongside the conversion of a person’s life!
Our aim at Help Bristol’s Homeless is to provide housing, by converting shipping containers into high end micro flats, but we go one step further than just putting a roof over someone’s head. Our residents actively contribute to the whole project, their time spent working on the containers does more than just create new micro flats. They are not only involved in the work, alongside professional trades and volunteers from all walks of life, they are supported to pursue whatever they need to move on from their previous issues, they gain self respect and confidence by being part of the project, they form the very community we are aiming to create and by doing all of that, they gain pride and hope for a better future for themselves and those around them. This gives our residents ownership of them turning their lives around. It is simple, and it works and the results are both amazing and rewarding! Please see under 'news' on our website 'We made it to the One Show' for an excellent video clip about the project. Many thanks and all the best Anne

Help Bristol's Homeless

Moment of Pride

The results to date....with only 5 converted containers early on in the project HBH managed to turn the lives of 50 people around....ie., giving them a self contained micro flat with their own key and front door and during their stay a helping hand to move back into society and rented accommodation.
