Description

Broadstone FC, formed in 1982, continues to grow and offer the opportunity for local people to engage in football on a regular basis. The most recent addition to the club is a girls team at U8, thereby completing the full complement of girls teams from U8s through to U16s. The offering to boys is also strong with teams at all age groups from U5s through to U16s. The adults section consists of two mens teams and an increasingly popular ladies team. Therefore, Broadstone FC is truly a community club with something for everyone.
Broadstone FC prides itself in using mainly local players and rarely goes beyond Broadstone and its neighbouring districts to recruit. The inherent values of the club are detailed in the mission statement:
BFC is dedicated to training the youth of our community the fundamentals and proper techniques of football. Our emphasis is on developing physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills in a positive and safe environment. We strive to provide opportunities for all participants to develop individual skills and abilities while being a contributing member of a team. It is important to the club that we provide a way for our players to build lasting friendships, great memories, and have fun!
The coaches are dedicated to promoting the core values of the club. Wins and losses are not a priority for our coaches; developing life skills and individual character is what guides our coaching decisions and actions on and off the football field. Coaches accept responsibility of the development of our players as both players and persons while under their direction. Our goal is to be a club that not only develops players that parents and coaches will be proud of, but also to guide our players to become positive contributors to any team they choose to be part of.

The home of Broadstone Football Club is Broadstone Recreation Ground which is a hive of activity every weekend – both Saturday and Sunday – during the football season. Whilst the children are developing their skills, knowledge and understanding of the game, the pavilion is a great facility for the many visitors be it parents, grandparents or wider family and friends. Not only does this provide a welcome shelter from the often cold and wet weather, there is the tea bar inside that is a great source of income to the club that can be put towards providing extra resources for the growing club.
That said, the equipment in the tea bar, including fridges, freezers, bacon grill and microwave oven, are in desperate need of replacement. Due to the popularity, not only with supporters but the wider community including families and dog walkers who happen to be passing through the recreation ground when football is being played, the current equipment has been well used. Therefore, the club are seeking funding to purchase new kitchen equipment to be used in the tea bar. This will aid the volunteers that help out each week to serve people faster and promote a positive experience for all visitors to the tea bar. Increased customer satisfaction will hopefully encourage them to return and generate addition, much needed, funds for the club to continue to be a success into the future.
Many thanks for your continued support.
