Description

Crosspool Juniors Football Club was established in 1975 and is a community based football club in the West of Sheffield. The club currently has 8 girls teams ranging from U9 to U15s and compete in the Sheffield and Hallamshire League.

CJFC also holds weekly Wildcats sessions for girls aged 5-11 to encourage more girls to play football and to improve their skills. We have also recently begun hosting additional sessions for goalkeepers within the girls teams to encourage them and assist with their development.

Crosspool Juniors is a community club run by volunteers and encourages involvement from local community groups, schools and parents. CJFC see football as part of the community, offering an established pathway to sporting skills and benefits to all our young participants. We welcome all ages and abilities to join in and make lifelong friendships through sports. The coaches and volunteers go above and beyond for the club and the players and are currently in the process of developing a newly acquired site into a 'Football Hub' for the club along with usual football commitments. The club relies on parental support and fundraising and the aim is to improve the facilities at the ground for the benefit of all teams.

As Crosspool are an independent club we do not benefit from funding through affiliation to a large football club, as other teams within the Sheffield and Hallamshire League do, and would like to offer the teams at Crosspool additional resources to encourage them to continue to develop themselves, and their skills. There has been an increased popularity of Womens football due to the success of the England Team and Womens super league, and Crosspool would like to raise the aspirations of our girls at a Grass Roots level.

Due to fundraising currently being focussed on the site, Crosspool Juniors would like funding for training equipment for the girls teams, Wildcats and goalkeeper sessions such as agility kits, tactics boards and other important resources.

Moment of Pride

We like to see our players with a smile on their face and are proud of them all. We encourage friendships and teams have additional social events as they enjoy spending time together. All volunteers, the committee, coaches, parents and players make CJFC a fantastic club to be a part of!
