As part of the Gosforth Fields Sports Association, Dronfield Rugby Union Football Club has successfully created an established juniors section aged from Under 7 to U17's/ U18's Colts. The Colts team hasn't been in existence for the last 25 years and has been reformed and will feed into the senior rugby team.

The clubs success not only relies on dedicated volunteer coaches giving up their time on twice weekly training sessions and games but also the necessary equipment, pitch fees, referee fees, first aid equipment and training aids to name but a few.

As the kids progress from touch rugby to contact and tackling so the equipment costs increase with tackle bags, body armour, tackle rings, shields become a necessity. Match days see increased equipment requirements such as perimeter posts, padding and flags to mark the boundaries which "take a bashing" along with increased first aid supplies ( strappings, muscle rub, ice bags) water bottles, bibs for instance.

This all comes at a cost which subscriptions alone cannot match. I have 2 boys that have been there since day one in 2006 when the junior section first began who have gained a surrogate family and through the teamwork have formed lasting friendships. The club and I want that legacy to continue and for them to have the latest, best quality equipment that's in a good state of repair so that they can enjoy their rugby and fulfil their potential.

Dronfield Rugby Club wants to provide an environment in the local community for young children and teenagers to enjoy their rugby in a safe, friendly, fun manner with the best quality equipment to enable the volunteer coaches in teaching the children these skills.
The physical nature of the sport and in all weathers takes it toll on the equipment and is used by a variety of age groups so is well used which means it needs replacing frequently.

Please support this worthy cause that has seen some of its junior players progress to regional representation and Leicester Tigers programmes. Without the necessary equipment this would not be possible to provide different drills, exercises and routines to ensure children can:
- enjoy physical activity, keeping fit and healthy with like minded children
- provide positive activity instead of loitering and getting into trouble
- an all inclusive approach welcoming children of all abilities
- develop friendships
- foster teamwork
- build confidence
- improve communication and listening skills
- trust in others
- respect for others
- relationship building crating a "family" feeling of belonging
- sportsmanship and technical skill learning.

This will enable Dronfield Rugby Club to continue to play an integral role within the community
that will attract future players to take up the sport and enjoy the benefits it brings ensuring the club builds on the successful minis and junior section it has established.

Feel free to browse the website to see the different age groups and see what your vote can contribute to - it will be a vote well placed!
