Health and wellbeing

Funding level: Up to £1,000

Macclesfield Town Ladies Football Club are affiliated with the Football Association and last year achieved the FA Charter Standard Development Club award. We offer an opportunity for girls to pay football from grassroots U7 to Open Age. We have 110 members and 9 teams including U7,U9, U11, U13, U15, U18 and Open Age. The Club is a not for profit organisation.
We provide a safe environment where girls can have fun playing football and keep fit and healthy. We are also a part of the Cheshire Girls League and play competitive games at Moss Farm each weekend.

We would like to expand regular training for U7s to develop confidence and skills for younger girls and offer free trial sessions for any girl of any age who would like to play football. We would spend the money on further courses to expand our qualified coaches to offer every girl no matter what ability to play football in Macclesfield and the surrounding area and to help them reach their potential.

With the increased popularity and publicity enjoyed by the women's game from the Super League and the success of the national teams, particularly the England Women's, there is more interest than ever in football for girls. Clubs like Macclesfield Town Ladies that provide good quality coaching and experience at grass roots level need to be able to expand to ensure that all those girls who want to, are able to experience the game and get a taste for football and for exercise and activity in general that will hopefully stay with them for a lifetime, with all the physical and mental health benefits this has been proven to bring. Funding to be able to achieve this is essential.

Moment of Pride

The volunteers who organise, manage, train and mentor the girls all give their time freely and tirelessly. They have made a huge and beneficial difference to the lives, health and wellbeing of so many girls and with further financial help could make that difference to so many more.
