Inclusivity

Funding level: £5,001 to £10,000

Description

Any funding we receive will be used to initially purchase a sit on lawn mower. This will enable us to cut the grass on the unused land at the rear of our HQ building By doing this we will enable the children to make proper use of this valuable resource. We will then add an all weather pathway down one side of the field to allow wheelchair access. The path will lead to a new purpose built campfire circle and wildlife area that will be accessible to everyone no matter what there mobility. We will also construct a new out door toilet and washing facility that will enable the space to be used for full day events and overnight camping for the children and young people.

As a local Scout and Guide Group located in Grenoside we not only provide places for the children and young people of Grenoside but from much further afield . We have children from Fox Hill, Parsons Cross and may other areas and challenging backgrounds.

By voting for our project you will be bringing an area of waste land back to life and give local children and young people the chance to experience wildlife and the outdoors in a controlled and safe environment.

Moment of Pride

I have been involved with the Scout movement for many years joining as a cub scout in the 1960's I am now the chairman of the group. Run by a team of dedicated volunteers our group would love the opportunity to use the outdoor space to its full potential.
