Health and wellbeing

Funding level: £10,001 to £25,000

Our School Council have told their teachers that they would like us to do more to help them keep cool during the summer months. They would like shade for our field and air conditioning in their classrooms because their classrooms are small with small windows. The children have said that it would help them to" concentrate more" and this will help them "to do even better with their learning". They also said that some shade on the field would help to protect them from the sun in the summer months. It would enable them to "cool off" after playing their games. They would also like some seating area under shade so that they could eat their lunch outside or just sit and chat with their friends at break times. Some of the pupils said that they could do some reading outside in the shade and their class teacher would be able to take them outside for a class story at the end of the day.
In order to provide air conditioning for all classrooms and to provide a shaded seating area for our field, the school would need to find £25,000. Like many schools, budget cuts mean that we cannot afford shade for our field or air conditioning. We appeal to the public for their support so that we can fulfil our pupils' request. We are a small school with a big heart. Help us to enable our children to keep cool in the summer.

Moment of Pride

The School Council, which is made up of two representatives from each class, have appealed to their head teacher stating all the reasons why they need shade and air conditioning. It was their idea to do some fundraising and we are proud of their relentless enthusiasm.
