Community support

Funding level: Up to £1,000

The purchase of ball stop netting for our newly finished ground for junior cricketers.
In 2015 we started the process of developing a piece of waste ground owned by the Cricket CLub into a dedicated field for Junior Cricket to be played on. This saw club members plough, level and reseed the land.
Over 2016 the field was cleared of stones, cut and had some drainage installed to make it suitable for the playing of junior cricket and to be used as a practice area for all our teams.
During 2017 we were able to use an artificial, portable cricket pitch to play the first games on the pitch, these saw our U11 team play there first game on 'Theier Field' as well as this it was used for some practice sessions and some fundraising games involving people from the wider community of Ardmore and the surrounding area. (Ex players, parents of current players etc)
By the end of 2017 we had been able to purchase and install an permanent artificial cricket pitch securing the availability of the ground for the youth teams withing the club for the forseeable future.
We now need to install a netting system to protect a nearby house from being struck by cricket balls to ensure that the pitch is available for use as fully as possible to our junior players

Ardmore Cricket Club

Moment of Pride

We are proud of this project as it has shown huge investment in time and resources from within the club and local community to make a cricket field available to young people from the local community that they can use and call their own.
