Description

Better disabled access for Girlguiding Norwich Keswick Campsite.
Keswick campsite was purchased in 1983 by GirlguidingUK Norwich, having rented
it for many years previously. It has seen countless camps for Guides, Scouts and
their Leaders. To ensure we continue to offer great outdoor experiences to all
our members, able and less able, we need to improve access to our toilet block.
We currently have a wheelchair ramp to the disabled toilet, but no wheelchair
access to the showers. In addition, the existence of the ramp makes access to
the toilets and showers for more abled users dangerous as they have to step off
it to access their facilities. We intend extending the ramp sideways to give
equal safe access for all to all facilities.
A grant of £1,000 would see this project become a reality and the first step to our planned improvements on the site.
We’re asking for your support to improve access for all the girls and scouts who use our facilities.

Moment of Pride

I’m proud to be a member of Girlguiding and to see how much time, effort and enterprise goes into the activities provided for the girls. Our volunteers give many girls residential experiences. Skills and experiences learned in Guiding provide firm foundations for girls to take forward to adulthood
