Description

Colwall Primary School has been housed in a temporary school for three years. Finally, the new school will open in January 2018 but it will be 'basic'. The EFA / LA do not have the funds to provide all the facilities a primary school needs and the outdoor space and forest school will need to be fully funded by parents and grant-making bodies. We need help to fund the forest school: story-telling chair, wooden benches, willow works/arches, outdoor play equipment, a safe pond area, and a garden (including raised beds, a greenhouse and equipment to encourage growing food and outdoor learning. A contribution of £10,000 will go a long way towards making the Forest School and garden come to life and have a positive impact on all the children. It will allow children to learn how we grow food and plants, and how we interact with the environment. It will be an invaluable outdoor classroom for all year groups. The attached images show the part of the seeded playing field and the attenuation pond (with small island) that is being created and will form an important part of the Forest School area.

Location: Colwall

Colwall Primary School is located in the Malvern Hills AONB and we want to engage with the wonderful landscape as much as possible. This project will allow the children to do that: taking their learning outside. The Friends Committee is a small but committed and enthusiastic group of parents.
