Community support

Funding level: £5,001 to £10,000

Keep Safe Ambassadors are trained in partnership with Police Scotland to recognise and tackle disability hate crime when in school or out in the community.

The training is one full day and encompasses what Keep Safe is, the range of disabilities, the impact and consequences of bullying and hate crime.

Young Ambassadors are also trained how to report incidents safely.

Ambassadors who complete the training will receive a badge and a certificate.

(Keep Safe is a partnership initiative with Police Scotland and a network of businesses across Scotland. Keep Safe places are checked and staff are trained. Anyone feeling lost, scared or vulnerable when out in the community, can enter a Keep Safe place and seek assistance).

A Keep Safe Scotland phone app is free to download and maps out all Keep Safe places across Scotland.

I Am Me Scotland
