Let's sing community choir
Health, disability & well-being
Funding level: Up to £1,000
We are applying for funding for let's sing community choir which was founded in 2013 with the help of the national lottery big fund . It's purpose is to improve the physical and mental well being of the community in Bradford . We meet on Wednesday from 2 o clock to 4- 30 and we are instructed by a qualified musical director . We have around 30 active members who pay a subscription of £3 per session . The choir regularly performs at local community events and centres and had there second annual concert back in April 2016 for fund raising . We are asked to preform at local residential homes . The choir is seeking funding funding to help with running costs . The average age of our members ranges between 55 to 85 and because of health issues eg limited mobility , hospital appointments Etc we do not run at full strength at every session . Members only pay when they attend as we are a choir which is inclusive regardless of health, finances ect .Our ethos is to reduce stress and anxiety , social isolation , to increase self esteem , confidence and physical health ( all of which are proven to do so through singing in a group ) . The benifits of singing together are numerous and we ask for funding so we can continue .
