Bristol Samaritans provide confidential emotional support, 24 hours a day, every day of the year to those in need of a safe space to talk over problems, feelings, stress or anything that maybe worrying them, especially those in extreme despair.

During 2015, Bristol Samaritans 140 trained volunteers took almost 53,000 contacts for support by phone, email, text and face to face visits in the branch. They also provide talks for community groups, schools and other organisations interested in their work.

Bristol Samaritans have partnerships with a number of local organisations, including local health services, HM Prison Bristol, HM Prison Eastwood Park and CRUSE to offer further support throughout the local community.

Bristol Samaritans

Moment of Pride

Bristol Samaritans do a huge amount to support the most vulnerable and isolated members of the local community. At a time when mental health services are overstretched and suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50, their work within the community is more important than ever.
