Community support

Funding level: Up to £1,000

Description

Ansty Village Hall is the centre for community activities in our small village. We have clubs and activities for everyone. Our Hall also plays host to all sorts of events: beer festivals, an Annual Village Fun Day, Christmas Parties for the children and over 60s plus everything from Christmas fairs with crafts and face painting for children to wakes. We hire the hall out to a variety of users for classes and functions which provides income to run the hall and support community activities. BUT -Our hall is old, dilapidated and expensive to heat and maintain and our equipment is decidedly tired so, the Ansty Village Hall Trust together with the Ansty Sports and Social Club, have driven a huge fundraising effort for a new Village Centre for all our community and sporting activities. Our tiny community of around 700 people, with the support of the parish and district councils, has now raised most of the money, the plans have been drawn up and we aim to start building next year.

Our new centre will include two kitchens instead of one: one for the social area and one for the village hall area. We have started a project to identify the equipment we need for the village hall kitchen and procure it through grant applications in time for fitting out the new building. By prioritising the equipment we need and grouping items together according to when we need them we have identified several small funding projects. This request is for a set of items which we can procure in advance and either use in the existing hall or store until the new hall is ready. These are all items we can use to improve our facilities even if the build project is delayed.

Specifically we aim to get: a microwave, a Lincat boiler, teapots, airpots (which keep tea or coffee hot for functions), a set of colour coded knives and boards for food preparation, and china jugs. Together these will cost approximately £1000.

Please support this project. Providing good quality kitchen equipment will make the hall more attractive for hirers and provide an excellent environment for community activities.

Our volunteers organise many fundraising events each year which are fun & bring the community together. Their efforts are awesome & deserve all the support they can get. The collective effort & unflagging support of our tiny village which has nearly raised enough for a new village centre is amazing.
