Health, disability & well-being

Funding level: £1,001 to £5,000

Description

We are looking to raise £2500 to transform our tired and uninspiring atrium into an indoor sensory garden. This will be a welcome addition to our residential home where we care for adults with learning and physical disabilities.

Sensory facilities have been proven to provide long term benefits to those who need assistance in balancing their sensory inputs. The experience gained from spending time in a sensory environment can assist those affected by various cognitive disorders, social and emotional issues and multiple physical impairments.

It would be incredible for our service users, many of whom suffer with mobility problems to be able to access a sensory room, with all of its benefits, within their home.

Having researched and visited other sensory rooms we would like our snoezelen to include a water feature, plants, bird boxes, wind chimes and rompa bubble tubes.
